Job Description:

The Regional Product manager is a key liaison between the Market and the central product organization.

1. General:
Understanding the product dependency on achieving the market’s commercial strategy, supporting them as the product expert  and central liaison point to global product team
Actively engaging with the markets customers on a regular basis to identify needs and opportunities and feeding back to the central product to ensure viable products are developed.
Keeping the markets informed on the progress product is making to close the identified product gaps and new product releases.
Responsible for the regional applications/product deployments and assisting the channels to increase user adoption rates.

2. Main Accountabilities: 
Understanding the product gaps to achieve the commercial strategy and impact on the customers in the market
Contributing to the business case for product prioritisation, by collating relevant local market information for the products requirements. 
Generating product awareness across the business and providing tools, information and knowledge transfer to both internal and external customers for products
Ensuring  marketing messages, and promotional activities are communicated internally and externally in the most effective way for the products
Customers alpha and beta test programs for the products
Encourage increased adoption rates for products
Maintain awareness of the competitive position of Travelport GDS products in the region and provide feedback to the content portfolio leads for products. 
Support product and project management in the creation and execution of product rollout activities and go to market launch plans. 
Collaborate with cross functional Travelport teams to ensure regional applications/products deployed in the market have required support, product collateral and training deliverables. 
Manage in market risks and issues associated with product launch activities to ensure they are addressed, tracked and escalated to product and project management as appropriate. 
Review customer feedback and lessons learned to contribute to the continued tailoring and refinement of the market deployment approach.
Contribute to the creation and development of product deployment approach on behalf of the market to ensure regional nuances are highlighted and addressed. 
Identifying potential 3rd party system providers who can fill product gaps and work with the relevant teams to ensure a successful implementation of the product to the market
Manage the retirement and sun setting of products  in market
Assist in the user acceptance testing  for local product deployment and integration into the core systems for products
Support sales engagements either via product demonstration or written responses (RFP) to ensure that Travelport’s product value proposition is appropriately represented for the products
Attending customer meetings and presentations to fully understand the issues affecting the customers and feed information back into the global product portfolio leads for the products

3 . Context/Environment:
The Role has product responsibility for your allocated countries. 
Regularly interacts with executives and/or major customers.
Interactions may involve controversial situations, customer negotiations, or influencing and persuading more senior level managers.
 
4. Key Measures  (e.g., financial scope, budget and staff management responsibilities):
Customer and Commercial development satisfaction
Successful deployment of new products to customers along with contribution to achieving adoption targets
Achieving adoption metrics for re-launched products 

5. Working Relationship  (e.g., external customers, suppliers; internal customers, staff managed):
Reports to the Director Regional Product Management
The incumbent must be able to successfully work with and influence individuals not under their direct control – influencing and relationship building skills are therefore paramount.
The incumbent is required to interact with most Travelport GDS departments, as well as customers, suppliers and 3rd parties
 


Profile:

Graduate or equivalently qualified by experience
Extensive (more than 5 years') experience with a GDS or CRS system is essential
Experience of global company environment within the travel industry having progressively taken on increasing levels of responsibility for a portfolio of products
Commercial Development experience preferable
Must have an excellent understanding of the travel industry
Expert knowledge of the competitive landscape
Outstanding communication and presentation skills
Strong analytical thinking and clear oral skills to present content to various audiences – senior management, sales, technical and support staff, internally and externally
Strong initiative and follow through skills with high attention to detail
Strong commercial acumen
Demonstrates ability to manage and deliver on times against multiple priorities
Excellent customer relationship skills
Ability to work effectively with individuals at all levels of the organisation
Excellent relationship building skills with a good understanding of different cultures and how to work with them to deliver results
Fluency in Dutch (or Flemish) and good command of English verbally and in writing are essential. Ideally has a good command of French language as well.
